Our founder, David Bailey, spent some time in Germany when he was in the United States Navy. He learned a word while he was there that stuck with him, TREU. TREU is a German word that means… loyal, faithful, and committed. The meaning described David and his approach to building relationships and partnerships perfectly.
The IT industry, like so many others, is rife with people that are just looking to make a buck and have no interest or concern for those they may impact while doing so. This along with a myriad of other reasons is probably why we continue to see enterprises large and small, buy IT Technology and Services by working directly with the suppliers that sell them.
There are two challenges with engaging a supplier directly: (1) Time: we have yet to ever talk to an IT or Procurement Leader that said they have tons of spare time to meet with salespeople, however, they continue to do it; (2) Unless you have the knowledge, relationships, time, and toolsets to engage with the vast IT supplier ecosystem on a daily basis, it is impossible to understand the best way to buy from those suppliers.
